I opted for the Corne v4.1 because I’d started experiencing wrist pain from using a traditional keyboard. Even though it’s quite challenging to get used to at first, I’m liking it more and more each day. For new users out there, just remember that there is a learning curve, and you’ll likely end up tweaking the key mappings to suit your personal preferences.
I’m still very much in that learning curve myself—I haven’t yet regained my original speed with numbers and symbols, and a few IDE shortcuts feel like a finger-twister mini-game. But instead of rushing to create an overly complex layout, I remind myself to keep things sensible and slowly get used to it. The goal is to improve comfort without making switching to a regular keyboard a painful experience.
One tip: don’t go overboard with creating a radically unique layout. There will be plenty of situations where you won’t have your custom keyboard with you and will need to use a standard one. If your layout is too unconventional, you’ll end up slowing yourself down. Try to keep things simple and close to the original QWERTY arrangement so that switching back doesn’t cause a productivity nose-dive.
About the service:
This was the only Indian distributor I could find, and the reviews looked solid with no red flags. I took a leap of faith—and they absolutely delivered. Great packaging, on-time delivery, and amazing customer service. I honestly don’t have any complaints. For all keyboard enthusiasts in India, definitely give them a try. And to the store owners—keep up the great work!
This is a great keyboard for programmers. I am loving it bigtime. Vial compatibility makes it super easy to configure. Indeed, thanks to the configurability of this, I even shifted to colemak and that makes me even more productive. One thing to remember about this is that it is very sensitive to emi ( electro magnetic interference). That means all radiating devices, especially mobile phones and bluetooth cases, should be kept at least 2 feet away. Otherwise keyboard behaves erratically. Overall a 5 rating product and I am all set to order also a low profile corne from neomacro.
It will have little bit learning curve but you will get use to it very quickly for first time buyer this is great choice, end user need to do keys and keycaps setup
great pricing and this is my first split keyboard, very easy to customize via Vial
Got the black version. Packaging was superb, order was delivered before time, and no unnecessary spam messages from the company. All 10/10 from ordering and delivering perspective.
Product is 9/10. Some tolerances are not exact and I had to bend my switch pins for one socket. It is not ideal to change the switches frequently because of the tight fit; but this is common in all 3D printed keyboards. The TRRS cable could have been longer. Some missing information about the product like the microcontroller used is missing.
The keyboard is so well built, no rattle and no creaking sound whatsoever. Flashing through vial is easy. Tap dance and changing mod-tap duration makes it better than VIA. Would definitely recommend it for people looking to purchase their first or second split.
And the best bit - the price offered is too good for a fully built barebones kit. No soldering or assembly makes it work out of the box very fast. All the parts that you could need to use it are all present in the box. A really great product in my opinion.
